Justin Rao is an economic researcher by training who spent his early career primarly at Microsoft Research. He then moved into leading data science teams (Expedia Group), performance marketing (Booking.com) and product/tech teams (Zalando). At Zalando, Europe's 2nd largest online retailer, he leads the teams responsible for pricing, performance marketing, customer relationship management, experimentation platform, customer lifetime value platform and economic insights. He is still an active researcher and has published 25+ papers in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Political Economy, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Marketing Science, Management Science and the Annals of Applied Statistics.
